What follows is a simple account of a somewhat extended winter in Nepal.  Three journals of notes and ponderings that will one day become a complete book.  Quite why, I'm not really sure, I'd just like to write a book.

Nepal is a country with a diverse culture and environment, but the call of the mountains was strong.  The vastness and solitude humbles the soul, and makes experiences more direct without those everyday thoughts, those restless monkeys, chattering away.  The monkeys were quieter above the treeline, the mountains and the lakes urging them to silence.  Or maybe they all had altitude sickness, but at least they were calm.

To the journals then, the first of which I remember to be orange.
